I've got some good news.. I've got some bad news..

Which would you like to hear first?
How about the bad.
I like ending on a positive note.

Bad News: So.. turns out; not only do you have to live in Utah for 12 consecutive months and be able to prove it, BUT your car has to be registered in Utah, be registered to vote in Utah, and have a current Utah's drivers licence in order to apply for in-state tuition. And all of this had to be done by June 1st. I did not know that. So when I faxed in my application with proof that I did, in fact, work and live in Utah for the past year, I was hoping to pay in-state tuition because I didn't receive a whole lot of loan money and without in-state tuition I would still have to pay another $1500. I didn't have the money and my classes were dropped. So here I am, in Logan, with no job and no classes, and not really loving the whole housing situation. Bummer.

I usually run every day (or try to at least.) But I've been pretty good with it for the past couple of months. Well, yesterday I was only running for ten minutes and my leg was throbbing! A sharp pain would shoot up my leg every time I lifted it to take my next step. I iced it when I got home, not that it helped or anything, because seriously every time I lifted it, I wanted to cry. I've always had bad knees, but I've never experienced anything like this before. No more kangoo jumping for me.. for a while at least. Which sucks, because I've lost about ten pounds in the last month or so, and I was loving it! Bummer.

that's it for the bad news.. hopefully! (crossing my fingers..)

Good News: I might have landed myself a job today. Don't get too excited, it's only at Sizzler. ha ha ha. However, as I was filling out my application today, I did come across a fairly attractive male who also works there. You better believe that he was eyeing me too. ;) The manager said he would call me when he was doing interviews. Apparently he was really impressed when I said I had previously worked at Sizzler for 2 years.

AND.. since I am not going to school right now, I need something else to fill up my time. SOO.. drum roll please...... I am going on a mission! Big shocker, right?! haha. I may have mentioned before that I wanted to serve one, but in all honesty I wasn't entirely serious. I was really hoping I'd be married or engaged or in a relationship or SOMETHING. But I'm not. and I am 100% okay with that, because that means I have a whole 18+ months to strengthen my weaknesses, grow closer to the Lord, and do whatever I need to do that would make me a better wife/mother. I've never felt this good about any decision I've made in my life this far. When I am serving others is when I am truly the happiest, so a mission would be a great opportunity for me. I want to start on my papers this weekend. So it's for realz. I was inspired to believe that I will be serving in the Greece, Athens mission. hahahaha just kidding. I just think it would be siiiick to serve there! Sisterhood of the traveling pants anyone?? (isn't that where alexis bledel found her hottie?) I also would love to serve in New York, doing church history tours or something. I think that would suit me well.

Oh yeah.. and a stranger told me today that I would make a great missionary. They said I had a light about me and that I was very outgoing and friendly. Probably made my whole week.

Boo for the crappy schooling and housing situation.
Yay for missions!!!
So it's for serious then?? You're going?? That is exciting! Mom and dad will have 2 missionaries out! (you and Layne can have a combined Homecoming!)
If you go to Greece, I'm going to be jealous though!

Would you really want to meet your hottie while on your mission? IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY? That would be horrible. Ha ha.

I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU. I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR WHERE YOU GO BECAUSE I KNOW YOU'LL BE THE BEST MISSIONARY EVER AND I'M JUST SO EXCITED FOR YOU!

Shlove you man,
Mandy

Maybe there was a reason the whole schooling thing didn't work out?!! You are meant to serve a mission Laurel and I'm so happy that you have made this decision. I'm also a little jealous ;) YOu definitely have a light about you and the fact that a stranger can see that is no surprise! Love you!

PS... Sorry about the whole leg pain. That really stinks. I wonder what it is??
