Two posts in ONE day, how awesome am I?!

OKAYY, so I have some pictures of my weekend in Logan. Always fun to go visit. :) AAAND I will be moving down there shortly, ask me how excited I am! Anyway, on Friday we were bored and decided to go sledding down Old Main.

So we get there, and walk up the big hill.. there is NO fresh snow, its all compacted and basically ice. When you get going, you can't stop. Hence why their arms are all scraped up! You had to use your body to stop, or just roll off the sled. My butt was so sore I couldn't hardly move. It was terrible. But at least we had fun getting all dressed for the occasion.

Also, we made sweet tie-dye shirts the next day. Mine didn't turn out so awesome, but practice makes perfect right? We made them to go to a Mardi Gras dance that night. I however had to get home, so I missed out.. :(
I heard it was loads of fun though! Who wouldn't want gross foreign guys rubbing up on you?! What pervs. Guys, groping is not attractive and most likely won't score you a date at the end of the night. Now guys that can dance on the other hand... MMmmMMmmMmm I'd date ya!

Kids Say The Darndest Things..

So I teach primary. It could be just about the greatest calling in the church, I am going to have such a hard time moving JUST because I won't get to teach my little 6 year olds anymore.. Anyway, that's not the point. Today during Primary I was laughing so hard. These kids think of the funniest things to say, and they don't even mean for it to be funny! Examples:

"Is the military where you die or live?

"Who is the President of our church?"-me
"OBAMA!!!"

"My sister wants to marry Troy Bolton." - yeah we were talking about the Prophet, and that led to a discussion about High School Musical. It happens.. a lot!

"My mom said she was going to talk to Troy and Corbin Bleu and see if they wanted to play basketball with me!"

"That man has dots all over his face! Maybe he's sick..."

"Does anyone know who the first prophet was?"-me
"Umm definitely Angel Moroni."

"Who was David O. McKay?"-me
"OH, he was a really good man."

So yeah, these kids are so funny. I'm definitely going to have a party for them before I leave and I'll post a video or something of it. They are the cutest little kids!

TGIF!

Okkkay. So, Friday's aren't what they used to be! When I was around 8 years old, I remember on TV they would air every friday my FAVORITE TV shows! They called it, TGIF. I think it was on ABC or something? Anyway, my parents would go out and my older sisters would babysit us. We would always watch Boy Meets World on those Friday nights. Good times! Setting up the 'hide-a-way' bed and watching good ole' tv. But here's my question.. what other TV shows aired besides Boy Meets World? It's killing me!

Oh and another thing.. I was reading somewhere online where you can actually make yourself have a W.I.L.D dream! (Wake induced lucid dream)

Anyway, since it's Friday, I'm going to try it out! I can afford to loose an hour of sleep on the weekends. And I LOVE when I have control of my dreams. It's so wild... :)

Chris Brown... What A Gem!

So my sister, Lachelle, informed me last night that Chris Brown was in jail for assaulting a woman.. most likely his girlfriend, Rihanna.
How white trash?! Isn't Jay-Z her manager or something? He's pretty gangster, I wouldn't want to mess with him! Anyway, I wonder if Rihanna told Chris to grab his clothes and get gone..?

P.S. I am now canceling my subscription to the Chris Brown fan club.

A Chuckle A Day Keeps the Doctor Away

So for my Senior Project, I did my thesis on the benefits of laughing. I was lucky to find such an awesome topic, that I could stick with. Some of the benefits were:
- reducing the level of stress
- provided a good work-out for the heart
- in some cases, laughing actually healed really sick patients.

If any of you haven't seen Patch Adams, I would definitely reccomend watching it. Patch goes to the children's hospital dressed as a clown to make the kids laugh, and to help them focus on the good in life, rather than the hardships they are currently going through.

I seriously beleive that if you laugh a little more everyday that life will seem to go by a lot easier, and also increase your health. Place yourself where you'll be able to have a good time. Hang around with people who make you laugh. You'll see immediate changes in your attitude. :)

I need to vent.. so I'll blog!

Oh wow. Ask me how crappy my day was today!
"Laurel, how crappy was your day today??"
"SO INCREDIBLY CRAPPY!!"
So, I'm on my way to work, I even left the house 30 minutes early! I was going to be on time, and it was going to be a good day, wrong.
I left early, and just my luck I was stuck behind THE LONGEST train known to man. I swear there were at least 300 box cars connected to that train. So I waited at the stoplight for 25 minutes!! I barely got it to work at 10 on the dot.. but then i still have to sign into my computer, and that takes another 10 minutes or so. So I'm able to clock in on time at least, but then I see this note on my desk...
Laurel, come see me at my desk when you get in.
Oookay. Great. My supervisor wants to talk to me.. awesome.
I go over there, and he's trying to be calm about the whole situation, while I'm freaking out, thinking I'm going to get fired or something. He never leaves me notes on my desk to come and see him..
He tells me that I didn't do my job efficiently, and that because of my lack of work, it cost a customer another backup order.
I'm sick.
He then goes on to tell me what I needed to do in order for this 'delayed payment' to go through. In my mind, I could've sworn I did all of those things. He sends me back to my desk, and I feel terrible.
I had another training class later on that day, so I asked my trainer if I did everything that I could do. He researched it, and told me I did EVERYTHING RIGHT!! The lady that is suppose to take care of delayed payments and process them just didn't. She e-mailed my supervisor and told him that I need to contact the customer and make things right with her, and apologize. Sorry lady, I did my part. YOU didn't do your part.
I was blamed completely for something I had no control over. And I could've been fired! My trainer talked to my supervisor and kinda chewed him out. When I got done with training, I went back to work and my supervisor wouldn't even look at me. I'm still so frustrated, but now my concience is clear knowing that I did all that I could.
People need to stop under-estimating the newbies. I knew what I was doing!

A Painting Can Be Beautiful... But I Don't Want to Bang A Painting!

As some of you may know, in a recent episode of the Office they took a poll to see if Hillary Swank was hot or not.

Yummm! I love pound cake and unemployed men!

Sorry Lachelle and Leah for not blogging. (As of right now, you're my only friends on this site.) I kind of forgot I had an account. Anyway, I'll update.

So, as of November 3rd I started working at Melaleuca in the call center. Wasn't too bad once I got the hang of it, and I actually had some interesting conversations with the customers. Probably my favorite thing about that job are the people I get to talk to, most of them are old ladies and have NO idea how to place orders online, so they have to call them in. I was placing an order for this sweet old lady, bless her heart; she had a sweet tooth like a 4 year old! Anyway the conversation went as followed:
"Okay Edna*, is that going to complete your order today?" -me
"Ohh, just one minute sweetie, that English Pound Cake and Apple Crisp seem pretty good, put me down for one of each. -Edna*
"Oh, excellent! Those are my favorite smelling candles! It'll make your house smell divine!"
"Oh..? Well, I thought that those were actual cakes. I really wanted them."
"Yeah, sorry Edna*, those are just the scents for our candles.."
"Well then, that's okay. I'll do without those. I just really wanted some cake. Let me know when Melaleuca starts selling cakes, okay?"

Hahahaha, poor lady! It says right on the price list that she was looking at, that those were the scents for the candles! Sorry Edna* but I'm pretty sure Melaleuca, The "WELLNESS" Company won't be makin cakes anytime soon! But enjoy your Sol-u-Mel anyway!
*-- I can't really remember what her name was. Edna was just a good guess.

Anyway, I've got some more goodies. Stay tuned for my next super awesome conversation. Take note that BOTH of these conversations happened the exact same day. It was a really good day for me, to say the least! Ha Ha!

"How can I help you today John?" -me
"Oh, sweetie. I don't even know where to start. I've lost my job, I have no girl friend, and I'm living with my parents.."-John
"Oh John, I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully our products will cheer you right up!"
"Yeah, yeah. The products are amazing. I sell them to neighbors and all, and today I'm wanting to buy some shampoo for these cute girls working at the golf course."
"Awesome. They'll love it!"
"Laurel, do you have a boyfriend?"
(.....Oh boy, where's this conversation going?!...)
"Nope, I'm single."
"OH! Well I'll be darned!! By the way that you're talking with me, I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want to date you!"
"Hahaha thanks John."
"Now listen. If you want a boyfriend, go for it. Don't be too easy though, guys like a challenge."
"MMMkay.."
"You know, I got fired from my job because I went up to a black lady and told her that maybe I should hook up with her and my luck would change! Apparently that was harrassment, and they fired me. Now I'm working at a golf course part-time making minimum wage, and nobody wants to date a guy with no money!"
"Well John, you should start up a Melaleuca Business. You could make lots doing that."
"I'll keep that in mind sweetie. I just hope I can get a girl. But anyway, you go for your dreams! You go for that guy! And I'll pray for ya."
"Ok, thanks John. Now what can I get for you?!"

Ha, after 30 minutes of talking he finally hung up. It seriously took me like 2 minutes to place his order, the rest of the 28 minutes was spent listening to him gripe about his crappy life, and tips on how I can get a boyfriend. Haha, a guy that can't get a girl giving me tips, funny right? Anyway, those are just two of the many hillarious calls that I get each and every day!
